Safety features

There is an available Safety Shield 360 package available. The package adds automatic front wheel emergency braking, pedestrian monitoring, blind spot detection, assisted lane departure, rear cross-traffic alerts and high beam assistance.

Automatic front-wheel emergency braking

The great part of having an automatic emergency braking system is that when driving on city streets throughout Dublin, this feature prevents you from having an accident with other vehicles or pedestrians. The technology is an excellent feature to have when driving at lower speeds.

When driving at high speeds, such as on interstates or open terrain, the technology scans the terrain up to 200 meters in front of the car for early detection of any potential dangers.

Pedestrian monitoring

The primary use of this system allows external sensors positioned in the front of the Sentra to protect pedestrians against impending danger with the vehicle. Therefore, the driver receives alerts both audibly and visibly within the car.

Blindspot detection

Blindspot detection is excellent at providing safety to the highest degree. Additionally, it provides protection when changing lanes on the interstate and also when cruising around Westerville, OH.

The technology is exceptionally reliable in providing alerts concerning vehicles there are in that blind space. The blind spot, unfortunately, is easily indicative of a collision waiting to happen. This technology helps to prevent such accidents and protects against even the minor mishaps that often occur when a vehicle is in the blind spot of the driver.

Assisted lane departures

When ready to change lanes, this technology identifies lane markings in addition to the edges of roads and lines. The advantage is that it quickly notifies the driver before changing lanes to avoid an inadvertent lane change.

Rear cross-traffic alerts

When the vehicle is in reverse, these alerts notify the driver of any potential vehicles crossing the rear of the automobile. It also keeps the mind at ease when exiting a parking space. With limited visibility when driving in reverse, this feature is a must-have.

High beam assistance

The high beam assistance system will immediately switch headlights from high to low to reduce the distractive activity of a driver. As an oncoming vehicle approaches, the lights will change to low beam to reduce the brightness of the oncoming motorists for safety. High beams notify the driver of early notification of pedestrians in his driving path.

Technology

The 2020 Sentra has an infotainment system that enjoys some significant upgrades. It now comes with a seven-inch color touchscreen high on the dashboard of the base S trim. On the upper trims, there's an 8.0-inch screen available. Some of the standard features include:

  • Bluetooth streaming
  • MP3 playback capabilities
  • Hands-free texting
  • Four or six-speaker sound system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
  • Sirius XM satellite radio
  • Bose sound system (optional)
  • Auxiliary input jack

The SV-trim features an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay two USB ports. This mid-level trim also has adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and keyless entry.

The SR-trim provides around view camera technology along with an auto-dimming review mirror.

Interior

With the new Nissan Sentra, the interior is significantly improved and attractive with its new edgy design. For example, the triple air vents are now centrally mounted, and the steering wheel is now flat bottomed. The standard interior has six-way manually adjustable driver seats. It comes with cruise control, automatic locking power door locks, and keyless entry.

Nissan continues to build its attractive interior with pushbutton startup and zone automatic climate control. They come standard on both the SV and SR models. Additionally, the SR model contains an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Finally, the cruise control and remote engine startup are standard on the SV and SR trims.

The interior now is slightly wider and provides more space for all passengers. The average total seating capacity is five for average-sized adults. The Zero Gravity seats provide excellent comfort and protection during long drives around Columbus, OH.

A major purchasing decision is trunk space. The total trunk capacity is more than sufficient for a car in its class. You can now quickly load and unload cargo because Nissan offers a full opening trunk with a lower liftover. If more space is needed, the rear seats fold down, allowing you to carry approximately five carry-on bags. There are small space compartments such as in the storage bin and glove compartment, near the front of the shift knobs. The SV and SR models come standard with seatback pockets and two cupholders within the rear center armrest.

Trim options

The 2020 Nissan Sentra has three trim levels to choose from which are:

  • S
  • SV
  • SR
